This is a timeline of the life of Peter Liacouras, president of Temple University in Philadelphia from 1982 to 2000. During his administration, the university’s budget had well more than tripled to $1.26 billion in June 1999. The university's endowment skyrocketed from $15 million in 1982 to $109 million in 1999. University scholarship funds blossomed from $6.7 million to $28 million, and $922 million in capital projects had been completed or were under way as he left office. Funded research had very nearly tripled to $73.8 million for the 1999-2000 school year. He had the largest development program in the university's history that birthed campuses or sites in London, Paris, Rome, Athens, Tel Aviv, Ghana, Tokyo, Seoul and Beijing.
