Marcelo Malpighi was the founder of histolgoy, or the founder of microscopic anatomy. Histology is the study of animals, plants, and vegetables using a microscope. He used a microscope to look at capillaries, alvelolar, corpuscle of kidney and spleen, mucous bodies, epidermoid follicles, fauna, and flora. Specifically in 1661, he saw capillary circulation in the urinary tract of a frog. The blood was circulating in small tubes. Although, he was most known for the discovery of mucous from the lower stratum of the epidermis, and the vascular coils in the kidneys.
